Click on Images to See Enlargements * When I began working with felt, I used commercial, synthetic felt . The first five images are of wallhangings I made with commercial felt and cotton. Because I enjoyed the work, I then decided to try my hand at making wool felt. So, in 2004, I began learning to make felt from merino wool roving, using the wet felting method. The last 7 images are of works and works in progress that use handmade felt. The process is a strenuous one, but I find it quite enjoyable, particularly the transformation of the wool fibre into material. The last link above is to my etsy store where I've listed my most recent felt pieces--small handmade purses. |
